Attn Griff.
I was able to use my son’s "clean" computer over Xmas and I downloaded the files you suggested, renamed as instructed, brough them home and moved to my computer. The Malware program would not install. I followed your suggestion to the letter, but was unable to complete the task.
At the suggestion of one of my Comcast techies, I also downloaded Avast anti virus program. Installed it on my computer and it ran a Boot scan on startup. This solved the problem and my computer is now clean.
I have heard of others experiencing the same problem I had, so I post this as information. It worked for me. Thanks for your input.
