Spybot updates 2/4/2009

New Spybot updates are available for download. There are 3 of them today.

I have updated Spybot several times before with no problems, but this morning I ran into problems while trying to update it, and now I cannot run it at all. I looked here and found this thread. However, when I click on download, I get an advertisement totally unrelated to Spybot.

How do I get Spybot again?

(Interestingly, I was unabe to update Adaware as well…)

If you are also unable to update your antivirus head over to the Malware & Virus Removal forum, read *** Before you Post a Log *** and post the logs requested.

That was not the issue.

When I first accessed BOBBO�s thread earlier this morning and read that there were updates for SpyBot, I clicked on the word �document� of his post, which was underlined. I expected that to be a link to the updates, but instead it linked me to an ad.

After reading your reply (thank you) I searched for other links to SpyBot update, and was able to update it without any problem.

Interestingly, the word �document� in BOBBO�s post does not appear underlined any more.

PS. On another note, I have valued this website tremendously over the years, and a few days ago became a life member. Now I have to select what type of email service I want from Windows BBS, which is something I didn�t even expect, and is very nice indeed!

I mentioned av because there is malware currently around which prevents logging onto any security related site. Glad to hear that you don’t have a problem in that reapect :)
